About us

Our Classes

Story Explorers is a new and exciting themed sensory and messy play class for babies aged 0-18 months. Our sensory adventures always begin with an interactive story session, followed by messy and exploratory activities that really bring each book to life! Each of these sensory activities is carefully planned and set up for you and your little one to explore together at your own pace.

Our classes are packed full of music, lights, puppets, textures and smells to stimulate your baby’s senses. Designed by an experienced Early Years teacher, Story Explorers is based around the principles of the EYFS curriculum and promotes important language and communication skills alongside physical and creative development.

Kate Toner

Owner / Class Teacher

Hi, I'm Kate. I live in Northallerton with my husband Chris and our little boy George.

I am so excited to be starting Story Explorers and bringing story themed sensory play classes to North Yorkshire. I am an experienced Early Years Teacher passionate about reading and its many wonderful benefits. When creating Story Explorers I wanted to combine reading aloud with sensory and messy play to engage all the senses and immerse your baby in a rounded story experience.

It was also important to me to plan a class that allows babies time for free, uninterrupted play and exploration in line with the EYFS curriculum. All activities following our story time are carefully set out to allow you and your little one to discover together at your own pace.

Let's get exploring!!
